Twitter will show users more recommended tweets
Suggested tweets are displayed on the homepage, explorer tab, and other parts of this social network.
Twitter said it wants to make sure all Twitter users see the best content, so it will also show them suggested tweets from people they don’t follow.
The official Twitter Support account tweeted:
“We want to make sure everyone on Twitter sees the best content on the platform, so we’re offering suggestions to all users, including those you may not have seen before.”
How to display suggested Twitter tweets
Twitter didn’t provide more details about the change, but linked to an old blog post in this tweet that explained how their algorithmic content works and how it’s displayed. According to the post, “suggested posts can appear on the homepage, places from the Explorer tab, and other places on Twitter.” As you know, you can switch between the main feed and the “Latest Tweets” by clicking the star icon in the upper right corner.
This change could help Twitter increase its user growth. Elon Musk has already claimed that since his tenure, the growth of this social network has reached its highest level. Improving the platform’s user numbers could be an important way to bring back advertisers, as many like GroupM, the world’s largest advertising agency, have recently moved away from the social network.
Twitter offers users two different feeds: “Recent Tweets“, which displays the tweets of people you follow in chronological order, and “Home“, which contains the most popular tweets of your followers. If for any reason you’d prefer not to see suggested tweets in your feed, you can click the star icon to go to the “Recent Tweets” feed. Of course, even in this situation, you may come across suggested tweets on the notifications page.
