According to Apple, the iOS 16.7.1 update fixes important security bugs and is recommended to all users.

Apple ended support for iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 10 in the new version of iOS. These phones do not receive iOS 17 and features such as audience posters; However, iOS 16.7.1 has been released to fix the security bug in older Apple phones. Apple has also released iPadOS 16.7.1 for older iPads.

Apple did not provide full details about iOS 16.7.1 and only said that this update is offered to all iPhone users; Because it fixes several important security bugs. Most likely, they mean the same bugs that were previously fixed in iOS 17.0.3.

This is not the first time that Apple released updates for its old phones. Needless to say, this company also updated the iPhone 5s a few months ago.
