The Dimensity 9400 managed to achieve stunning scores in Geekbench 6, beating the flagship chips of Qualcomm and Apple.

The Geekbench 6 test results of the Dimension 9400 processor, produced with 3nm process technology, show that MediaTek has brought a powerful competitor to Apple and Qualcomm processors. The generational progress of Dimension 9400 is also impressive.

In November of this year, we saw the unveiling of the Dimension 9300 processor, which uses four powerful Cortex-X4 cores and four intermediate Cortex-A720 cores, and is made with 4nm lithography. Dimension 9300 was able to appear at the same level as the octa-core Snapdragon 8 generation 3 chip in single-core and multi-core performance.

Despite the impressive performance of the Dimension 9300, which makes it the main choice for many of the best mid-range and even flagship phones from Chinese manufacturers, there are concerns about the chip overheating due to the lack of a low-power core, for example, a 46% reduction in The performance of Vivo X100 Pro was

In 2024, MediaTek will make the Dimension 9400 chip with N3E lithography, an upgraded version of TSMC’s 93nm process. Last year, TSMC used the first generation of the same technology called N3B in the A17 Pro chip of iPhone and M3 MacBook.

The Dimension 9400 chip, like its previous generation, does not have low-power cores. On the other hand, it is said that the use of new technology will improve the efficiency of energy consumption and improve the performance of Mediatek processors, which can solve the problem of their heating, lead to a more competitive CPU price in mobile chips, and affect the price of the phone.

A whistleblower posted an image on his X post that shows Dimension 9400’s single-core and multi-core scores of 2,776 and 11,739, respectively.

According to Zoomit tests, the custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the Galaxy S24 Ultra scored 2,262 and 7,005 in single-core and multi-core performance, respectively.

MediaTek’s 2024 chip scores about 22% higher in single-core processing and about 67% higher in multi-core performance compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

On the other hand, the A17 Pro chip, which is Apple’s best phone, still appeared about seven percent stronger in single-core performance; Instead, Dimension 9400 was able to display 60% more multi-core power.

The results attributed to Dimension 9400 have been compared with current Apple and Qualcomm chips. It can be expected that Apple will show more power, especially in the single-core section, by introducing its A18 chip, which will be used in the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. A similar development is expected for Snapdragon 8 generation 4.
