The new and unknown Google phone with a Tensor G4 processor has appeared on Geekbench.

At the same time as the rumors about the Pixel 9 and Pixel Fold 2 phones that will be released this fall with the new Tensor G4 chip, a new mysterious phone has appeared on Geekbench that may be one of these two devices.

The new device has the code name Tokay, which is derived from the name of a large native Asian lizard. This phone is equipped with 8 GB of RAM and runs the latest version of Android 14.

According to MySmartPrice, the Geekbench 5 score of the new Google phone is not very impressive; However, the processor configuration has attracted the attention of users. This chip is equipped with an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of 3.10 GHz, which is a significant improvement compared to the Tensor G3 chip of the Pixel 8 series.

The codename “Tokai” is also in the spotlight. Google usually matches the monikers of devices that use similar chips, and given that the Pixel 9 series is codenamed Komodo for the regular model and Caiman for the Pixel 9 Pro, this name could belong to the third version of the Pixel 9 series.

Google has been changing codes for a long time; Therefore, there are speculations that this device could be the company’s next foldable phone, the Pixel Fold 2. Rumors suggest that the new Google phone model may be launched alongside the Pixel 9 series this fall, and will likely be listed as the best foldable phone.

It is rumored that this change is done in such a way that both the normal and foldable models of the new Google phones this time offer the same chips and, as a result, the same features. The low specifications of the Pixel Fold series compared to the Pixel 8 and not supporting artificial intelligence capabilities made the users of this foldable phone unable to take advantage of some new features.
