The return of Huawei; Crane processors ranked fifth in the world
Crane’s processor brings Huawei back to the field by taking fifth place in the global chip market.
According to Huawei Central, Crane’s processor has been able to partially save Huawei after years of facing obstacles such as the US embargo and lack of chips by being in fifth place in the global chip market, marking a significant return for this brand.
The latest report from Counterpoint Research shows that Huawei, the HiSilicon chip maker, is now in fifth place with a 3% share of the global chip market.
After the sanctions, Huawei looked for many ways to avoid bankruptcy, including focusing on the Chinese market and entering completely new areas. The achievements of the last few months show that the Chinese giant has been able to walk well in the fight against sanctions. The company owes its revival to the release of the Huawei Mate 60 Pro in 2023.
The Huawei Mate 60 Pro phone, which uses the exclusive 5G processor Crane 9000S, made a noise in China and now, thanks to this product, it is back in the competitive field of chip manufacturers.
Mate 60 Pro was not the only Huawei phone that strengthened the position of this company in the market; Moreover, Huawei Mate X5 foldable phone and Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet, which received positive feedback from Chinese users, also improved Huawei’s position.
Huawei is expected to continue its upward trend in 2024 with the launch of the Nova 12 series of phones, which are rumored to be equipped with the Crane processor.
Despite the impressive comeback of Huawei, Qualcomm remains the pioneer with a 40% share of the global market, and it owes this to the use of the Snapdragon 8 generation 2 processor among Chinese flagships.
Thanks to the iPhone 15 series, Apple has a 31% share of the global market; In the lower ranks, Mediatech is in third place with a 15% share, and Samsung is in fourth place in the global market with 7%.
Unisoc chips with a 2% share have taken the 6th place, and Google’s Tensor processor has taken the 7th place with a 1% share.
It is not yet clear what effect the improvement of Huawei’s performance in global markets will have on the price of this brand’s phone.
