An artist named Landon Mayer has designed realistic masks of well-known tech figures, such as Twitter CEO Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Each of these masks, which was recently showcased at the NFT conference in New York, cost $20,000 and takes a month or more to make.

Mike Winkleman, a digital artist known on Twitter as Beeple, showcased the masks at a satellite event based on celebrities including Musk, Zuckerberg, Andy Warhol, American artist Jeff Bezos, The former CEO of Amazon, and even “Kim Jong Un”, the leader of North Korea, have been made.

Beeple explains in his tweet that the masks were created by Landon Meyer, an artist from Denver, Colorado.

He told Insider that his collaboration with Mayer began in late 2021 when Mayer created Andy Warhol’s mask. Meier has since spent nearly all of the past year working on more than a dozen masks, managing to design lifelike prosthetics of famous tech figures.

He claims he spends $20,000 to make the first mask of each character, compared to $7,000 to $15,000 for new versions of masks that were already molded. Another strange design of the masks is that they can be a little bigger compared to the real human head.

Beeple, who in 2021 sold one of his pieces of digital art called “Every Day: The First 5000 Days” for $70 million, tweeted about the masks, saying he plans to use them as something he calls ” “Living Sculptures”
