YouTube Premium users can now play games on the service in addition to watching videos without ads.

Shortly after YouTube began cracking down on ad blockers, the platform shared plans to improve its premium paid service to entice people to pay for YouTube. Therefore, after paying the subscription fee, not only are there no more ads; But now you also get access to some cool features like the Playables tab.

According to the official announcement, Playables is a standalone part of the YouTube app on phones or browsers on laptops and desktops that allows you to play arcade games. Now, some premium users have received notifications from YouTube saying they can now enable this option via settings.

When you go to the Playables tab, you can play one of the 37 games available, one of which is Angry Birds Showdown. The good thing is that you don’t need to download anything and all the games run on your desktop browser or the YouTube mobile app.

We have seen a similar approach from Netflix, But we have to see if this approach goes well or not. In fact, even YouTube isn’t sure. The company says its new service will be available until March 28, 2024, and will likely decide after that whether to keep the new feature.
