Drako Dragon was introduced; The fastest and most powerful SUV in the world
Like the GTE super sedan, the very attractive Dragon SUV uses an all-electric four-wheel drive.
California-based startup Drako unveiled its second product. This very attractive SUV is called the Dragon and, like the GTE supersedan, uses a four-motor all-electric drivetrain. The total power of these engines reaches an incredible figure of 2000 horsepower, which brings the acceleration from 0 to 100 in 1.9 seconds for this car. With such a figure, Drako Dragon ranks among the most powerful and fastest-production SUVs in history.
Dimensions, weight and design Drako Dragon
The Drako Electric Dragon will be based on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. This electric SUV has a length of 5054 mm and a width of 2057 mm.
Its height reaches 1600 mm and its weight is 2254 kg. With these specifications, it should be said that Drago Dragon is longer and wider than a competitor like Tesla Model X.
Instead, it is 255 kg lighter than the P100D version; At the same time, it has a lower height.
Drako emphasizes that the use of a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, while reducing the weight by 50%, brings twice the strength of the structure.
In terms of design, Drako Dragon should be described as a special SUV. The Italian studio Granstudio, which belongs to Louis Vermeer, has designed this car.
Undoubtedly, the one-piece Gullwing doors should be considered the most prominent feature of this American SUV. The coupe-like form of the room, 23-inch alloy wheels and the large air intake on the bumper are other features of the Dragon in the exterior.
It is not bad to mention that the incoming air exits from this gap through a special duct on the hood.
Inside the cabin, the 17.1-inch touch screen of the infotainment system is considered the most special feature of the Dragon. As expected, a wide screen is responsible for providing the information the driver needs. In addition to these screens, there are two small screens on the sides of the dashboard that provide the driver with the images of the side cameras. Drico has also thought of entertaining the rear passengers and placed two large tablets behind the front seats.
Technical specifications of Driko Dragon
Derricko claims the Dragon is “the most powerful, fastest and fastest luxury SUV ever“. As we mentioned at the beginning, this car uses a four-motor engine with 2000 horsepower. Relying on this very powerful power plant, the Dragon is able to accelerate to 60 mph or 97 km/h in just 1.9 seconds, which is an amazing record.
This electric dragon covers a quarter mile in 9 seconds and can reach a speed of 200 miles or 322 kilometers per hour in a straight line. If these records come true, it must be said that Dragon will beat all gasoline, hybrid and electric SUVs!
For comparison, it is not bad to point out that the Tesla Model X with a 1020 horsepower engine accelerates in 2.5 seconds. This electric SUV completes the quarter mile in a record 9.9 seconds and has a top speed of 262 km/h.
No details are available on the Dragon’s battery capacity, but Drico claims a range of 420 miles or 676 kilometers. This electric super chassis is compatible with 500 kW high-speed charging technology.
Drako Dragon uses an advanced suspension system and the driver can adjust the height of the car with its help. There are three modes for height adjustment, which are Tarmac, Cruise and Overland. In the first case, the height of the car is set to 163 mm. In the second mode, this number reaches 213 and in the third mode, it reaches 315 mm.
The Dragon braking system includes 420 mm carbon ceramic discs at the front and 410 mm at the rear. These discs, in collaboration with ten-piston calipers in the front and six-piston calipers in the rear, stop the Darico Dragon.
Price and delivery time
The American startup has set a price of $290,000 for its first SUV product. This figure seems very low compared to the GTE sedan, which is priced at $1.25 million! According to plans, Deriko Dragon will enter the market from 2026 with an annual production limit of 5,000 units.
Those interested in buying this electric dragon can register their order by paying 500 dollars. If you choose the prepaid version, the amount of advance payment will increase to 5000 dollars. Only 99 units of this version will be produced.
