Google adds the ability to display the battery cycle to a limited number of phones.

In the QPR1 Android 14 developer beta, Google added a new section that shows battery status, number of charge cycles, and battery manufacturing date. This extension was well received, but it disappeared in the March 2024 update on Google Phone.

Google now says that this feature is only going to be available for the Pixel 8a and the phones that will be released after that. In this way, even the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones will not be able to display the battery cycle.

probably Google intended to test it on other phones before releasing the charging cycle display feature to make sure it works properly.

The Pixel 8a is expected to be announced in the coming months, closer to the I/O event in May.
